MacBook Energy Saver Tips: Conserving the Battery of your MacBook

Author: Heide Lynne Canlas

If you want to conserve the battery of your MacBook and want to make it last longer than usual, change the settings of your MacBook to Energy Saver mode. To do this, follow the step by step guide given below. This should conserve the battery of your MacBook, especially when you are out and away from any power outlet:

1. At the top right of your screen, you will see a battery gauge. Click on it.

2. As the menu displays, select which Apple energy setting you want to use. And because you want to conserve the battery of your Macbook and get its longest life, choose the Better Energy Savings option.

3. If you want to customize the configuration of your MacBook's Energy Settings, click on Open Energy Saver, still from the menu displayed. The Energy Saver preference window will then open.

4. From the Settings for: dropdown menu, choose Battery to allow energy settings configuration whenever you use your MacBook on battery power.

5. From the Optimization dropdown menu, choose Custom. The window should expand and display more preferences to configure.

6. On the Sleep tab, you will see two sliders - one allows you to set the time before the computer is put to sleep, while the other allows you to set the time before the display is put to sleep. As a general rule, the shorter the time you set for both sliders (or the more to the left you set the slider), the longer life the battery of your MacBook gets.

7. Also, check the box that says รข€˜Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible' to conserve power.

8. On the Options tab, choose more options that will increase the battery life of your MacBook. Check the boxes that say:

- Slightly dim the display when using this power source
- Automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep

9. For more ways to conserve the battery life of your MacBook, you can manually reduce its brightness using the F1 on the keyboard, especially when you don't need too much lighting on your screen. Also, make sure to turn off Wi-fi, Bluetooth, and other networking features of your MacBook when not in use.

Keeping these guidelines in mind, you should be able to conserve the battery of your MacBook and use it for hours. Remember, it is always best to care for your laptop's battery to maintain its functional performance so that you won't have to have it repaired on Apple stores every time it gets damaged due to improper use or overuse.

Ni MH AAA Batteries: Anytime Energy Resource

Author: Lucy

Ni MH AAA Batteries are those used by us in our day-to-day life. Nickel metal Hydride cells evolved from Nickel Hydrogen batteries just two decades back. Like Nickel-Cadmium Batteries, Ni MH Batteries are also a secondary electrochemical battery and use oxyhydroxide on its positive electrode. The only difference is that it uses an alloy that absorbs hydrogen on the negative electrod, in place of cadmium.

They weigh only 14-15 grams. They have a capacity of 1.2 volts, that is, 1200-1500 mAh. Whether you use regular or rechargeable Ni MH AAA Batteries, it is important that they are used effectively to get the most out of them.

Qualities Of Na MH Battery

However, Ni MH Battery wins over other conventional batteries in many ways. At about the same voltage, it is about two times more energy efficient than a NiCd battery and therefore, lasts at least three times longer than its closest counterpart. These have many other advantages over other regular batteries, some of which are as follows:

*They are an energy resource, that is, they are environment friendly, as they do not contain harmful substances, such as mercury and cadmium. These are not thrown or disposed of after use, thus reducing the burden of chemical waste.
*They are rechargeable. These can be repeatedly charged and reused after they get discharged. They can be charged for about 500 cycles.
*They do not overcharge or over discharge like other batteries.
*They discharge easily due to low internal resistance.
*They can be charged very quickly. It takes a little over an hour to completely charge them.
*They can reuse energy that has not been used. This makes then energy savers too.

Uses Of Ni MH Cells

AAA Ni MH batteries are mostly utilized in electronic appliances, such as remote controls, cordless phones, electronic toys, torches, stereo systems, portable radios and MP3 players, digital cameras, electric tools, and the like. These are perfect for digital products. In this era of technology, people are a lot dependent upon various appliances. These batteries are a must for proper functioning of the equipments.

Low Self-Discharge

Most of the leading battery manufacturers are offering a more efficient version of Ni MH AAA Batteries. It is known as low self-discharge nickel-metal hydride battery or LSD Ni MH battery. It uses enhanced positive electrode and improved separator. It increases efficiency by reducing the self-discharge. This property of LSD Ni MH battery increases its shelf life and also its capacity by 70-85 per cent. These kinds of batteries are useful for appliances or gadgets that use high energy.

Since Makita Ni MH Batteries are rechargeable, they can be used over a long period of time. Thus the slightly higher cost is completely justifiable and worth each penny. It also saves the hassle of carrying extra batteries while on the move. All one needs to carry is the charger for the Ni MH AAA Batteries, and they can renew their energy resource anytime.

Ni MH AAA Batteries have great potential and are used in all modern appliances, as they last longer and can be recharged. New improved versions promise more to the users.
